Carmen Del Campillo - Alicante, Spain     Travel Blog02

Moroccan house and gardens

Situated just outside Crevillent, Carmen Del Campillo is an oasis with a wonderful Moroccan home set in beautiful gardens. You can wander throughout the property and enjoy many fascinating room sets and designs.

The Bougainvillea provide huge splashes of colour cascading down teracotta walls and set amongst the lush fur trees and palms. The sweet scent of Honeysuckle and gentle sound of the many fountains make for a peaceful and tranquil setting.

Choose from a huge selection of hot and cold drinks and shishas. I took the water melon smoothie which in 35 degrees of heat was bliss.

The place isn't easy to find, but if you leave Crevillente on the on the Route Nacionale 340, direction Albatera and turn right just before the two petrol stations you will see some little wooden arrows that take you down a small road and there is easy free parking.

Admission is 6 euros and that includes your first drink. Further drinks are charged at 3 euros.

Did you know?
Bougainvillea is named after the French explorer Louis Antoine de Bouganville.
There are approximatel 180 species of Honeysuckle
